*Workshop* Pottery with Sarah Glass
November 30, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm EST$50
$50- Includes 1 pottery project: wheel throwing or hand building & glaze of choice
Instructor: Sarah Glass
Enjoy an evening of clay, pottery, and imagination. This Art Cellar workshop with Sarah Glass Ceramics is a beginner’s pottery class that does not require any artistic experience! During this guided workshop you’ll learn ceramics basics and getting hands-on wheel throwing or hand building instruction using white stoneware clay. You’ll learn the necessary skills needed for making functional pottery (plates, bowls, cups) and get some time on the wheel, with tips and tricks provided by Sarah. Sarah, a local pottery artist, will guide you step-by-step to create a work of art you will be proud to claim as yours! We will provide all necessary supplies, including reasonably priced beer and wine! We look forward to finding the creative person in each of you so, let’s COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES!
Class Minimum of 4, if the class does not meet the minimum required, Art Cellar will honor a refund. You will leave your project to dry and be glazed and need to pick-up your finished masterpiece. The process can take up to 4 weeks, but an Art Cellar team member will contact you to schedule pick-up as soon as your piece is ready.
Notes about the workshop: Sarah will give you a certain amount of clay that you are able to make as many pieces as you would like. Projects should be kept relatively simple if you are a beginner as this skill takes practice. Sarah will help give you some ideas for easy pieces to take on. Please note, some pieces especially if they are made to thin or thick could crack in the kiln. This is a risk with pottery and once you prefect your skill the chances of this happening are less and less likely. Once your pieces are complete you will be able to select 1 glaze color for all pieces created.
